Through the lens of a 2-story residence, Lake Rowena’s tranquil atmosphere is captured through a series of casually choreographed views. From the street, however, the view lakeside is subtly obscured through matured vegetation and a perforated, courtyard wall. Only when the resident crosses the courtyard’s threshold does one experience the expansive beauty of the western view.
Simple in its organization, the building sits low and horizontal along the water’s edge. Not only does the building emphasize the view towards the Florida landscape, but its restrained form and material palette sit as a quiet backdrop amongst the trees.
